At Kempshott Junior School we value all pupils as a part of the school community regardless of their abilities, needs or behaviour.  We want all pupils to achieve their full potential within a broad and balance curriculum, to prepare for future life and to become life-long learners, becoming good citizens respecting and valuing those around them. 

Kempshott Junior School practises effective inclusion within ‘full school life’ and believes that pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities should be treated equally and be integrated with peers.

We promote a whole school approach to meeting the needs of pupils with special needs, believing that early identification and intervention is paramount. Pupils are assessed at various times during their school life and those identified with having special educational needs are given extra support. At all times, working alongside parents is of priority.  Where appropriate we work closely with outside agencies and other professionals to meet the individual needs of the child. Pupils with special educational needs are not only pupils with learning difficulties, but include pupils with physical difficulties, emotional and behavioural difficulties, speech and language difficulties or medical conditions.
